Different Types Of Kitchen Counter Tops
Granite Countertops One of the most popular types of countertops for new kitchens is a granite countertop. You can choose from many different types of granite for the counter top. The best thing to do is go to a show room in your area and choose the one that will go best in your kitchen. When you get granite, they will usually cut it to fit the size of your work space in the kitchen and install it in one piece. Granite is one of the more expensive choices out there, but it is also probably the most durable of any of the others out there. Ceramic Tile Countertops Another great choice is ceramic tile countertops. These are very easy to customize because you can choose from just about any type of tile you like. These countertops are installed much like tile flooring. They are placed on the countertop, and then you use grout to hold them in place. The problem that you may have when you have tile countertops is that it is somewhat difficult to keep the grout clean. You will want to clean it with a special cleaner to ensure that it does not stain. Some people prefer to use the darker grout rather than the lighter grout- but this all depends on the colors that you are using in your kitchen area. Laminate Countertops Laminate countertops are probably the most economical choice. They are cheaper than most of the other options, but there is definitely a reason that you will not pay too much for this type of countertop. First of all, they are not very durable. They stain very easily, and they are also very easy to chip or scratch. If you are ever cutting anything, be sure to use a cutting board to prevent any types of cuts on the countertops. Also, clean up any spills right away to ensure that it does not stain the counters. Which is Right for You? Only you can determine which type of kitchen countertops are good for your new kitchen. Anytime you are designing new kitchens, you will want to carefully consider all of your options. While price is definitely a concern, you also need to consider the durability. Something that you will spend less on now may cost you more in the long run. Comments for this post are closed |
